February Newsletter

Dear Parents,

February is a busy time with preparations for budget development, School Plan for Student Achievement, Intervention for students and textbook orders. Students just completed the MOY (Middle of the Year) assessments and we are analyzing the assessment results to determine how to best support students and ensure that they are receiving individualized instruction. In addition, this is the time of year when teachers emphasize key standards and review the more difficult concepts in preparation for the state tests.
This year, the district has designated the iReady assessment district wide. Students in grades 3rd - 6th are taking the iReady diagnostic assessments in reading and in math. Students in grades K - 2nd are taking the iReady only in math. These assessments will inform teachers on how to best support students as well as to identify which students need intervention. We would like to thank you for your partnership and support in maintaining good student attendance and helping us to relay the message of the importance of assessments to your child. Our joint efforts will make a difference for our students.

In partnership,
Sarah Garcia
